Well, there is a fine line in balancing everything that goes into running a home based business and everything else you do daily. For all those out there that are doing it you know exactly what I mean. If time is not allotted for all tasks that it takes to run your business effectively.... daily, weekly and monthly.... something goes undone. This is either in your business or in you private life, and neither can survive that. So a good schedule is necessary.
I have found that for myself, I need to have in view what I need and want to do daily for each part of my life. And I need to set time slots for these task. This allows me to stay focused and operate more effectively. And have the needed down time during the day to stay mentally sane. For instance, my blog has gone without updates for WAY to long... It has been on my list of things to do, but at the end of the day it has not gotten done. This has shown me that I really needed to sit down and balance my time out... ASAP!
Sounds easy, not as easy as it sounds. Working from your home means for several hours of your day you are at home. This can create a problem for some people, either stifling your creative thoughts or inviting more down time to your day than you have planned. Each of these are very easy areas to get caught up in. I have found myself there so many times.
Therefore, I have found that during my day some of my task do not have to be done in the house. I can take a note book, my laptop, my portable beading container to the dog park, playing park, or just out and about with me. I home school my daughter so we spend alot of time together and I try to keep it interesting. What I have learned is that, while doing these things, I can still keep up with my daily task and stay on top of my game so to speak, when it comes to running my home based business....
Making my blog important is one of those task.... Lets see how this goes!
